Who should choose Medixar, and who shouldn't
Medixar is likely a good fit if
- Your clinic is growing into a hospital. Medixar's clinic and hospital tiers are the same product, so adding beds, IPD and an operating theatre is a plan change, not a new system.
- Your pharmacy is in-house. Prescriptions go from the doctor to your own pharmacy, screened for interactions, with earliest-expiring stock dispensed first and every dispense taken off the count.
- You practise Ayurveda or another AYUSH system. Six systems with their own consultation forms, Panchakarma plans, and AYUSH billing with SAC and HSN codes.
- GST is a monthly chore. CGST + SGST or IGST is decided by place of supply on each line, and GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B data is prepared from the bills.
Practo may suit you better if
- New patients find you on Practo.com. Ray lists Practo.com integration, and Practo Prime adds online booking through Practo. Medixar has no patient marketplace.
- Your hospital needs an on-premise installation. Practo says Insta can run in the cloud or on-premise. Medixar's plans are hosted.
- You need production ABDM exchange now. Practo describes Ray as "Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission compliant". Medixar links ABHA numbers today; its ABDM exchange is built against the sandbox and not yet certified for production.
- Insurance claims are a large part of your billing. Insta lists TPA claims, and e-claims to the UAE's HAAD and DHA specifications. Medixar records pre-authorisations and payer contracts; TPA claim submission is not in the product yet.
- You want the largest installed base. Practo states Ray is used by "50,000+" doctors. Medixar is new and publishes no customer count.

What Medixar does
- Front desk — appointments with provider and room availability, plus a token queue per department with a waiting-room display that shows token numbers, never names.
- Clinical record — one encounter workspace for notes, vitals, diagnoses and orders, with voice-to-SOAP drafts through OpenAI Whisper and ICD-10 suggestions for the doctor to approve.
- Pharmacy — interaction checks before a prescription is signed, and stock that stays right at a busy counter (pharmacy).
- Billing — GST by place of supply, pre-authorisations, payer contracts and payment plans (billing).
- Hospital — IPD, bed management, operating theatre scheduling and reports across branches (for hospitals).
- AYUSH — all six systems and Panchakarma, in the same record as allopathic care (for AYUSH).
Moving over
There is no Practo connector, and no self-serve import of patient lists or past records yet. Tell us what your current system can export and we will say plainly what can come across before you commit. On the Hospital tier, onboarding includes data migration from your existing system and staff training. If you ever leave Medixar, an admin can export patients, encounters and invoices as CSV.
